Bulgaria faces significant weather challenges as orange-level warnings have been issued for six districts due to expected heavy rainfall on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. The districts under the orange alert are Kurdzhali, Haskovo, Yambol, Bourgas, Varna, and Shoumen. These areas are anticipated to experience particularly intense rainfall, while the majority of the rest of the country is under yellow-level alerts for potentially dangerous weather conditions.

The national weather forecast predicts cloudy and rainy conditions throughout Bulgaria, with the central and eastern regions likely to see the most intense precipitation. Meanwhile, the southwest is expected to see a reduction in rainfall as the day progresses. Moderate northerly winds will affect the entire country, with temporary strong gusts expected in the eastern parts. Temperature predictions suggest a range between 10°C and 15°C, with Sofia anticipated to reach around 11°C.

In mountainous areas, the weather will be cloudy, windy, and rainy, with snow expected at elevations above 1,700 meters. Significant precipitation is forecast for the central Balkan Mountains, the Rhodope Mountains, Strandzha, and Sakar, with temperatures around 6°C at 1,200 meters and approximately 1°C at 2,000 meters.

Along the Black Sea coast, residents and travelers should prepare for cloudy skies, rain, and strong winds. Heavy precipitation could occur locally during the afternoon, with maximum temperatures ranging from 15°C to 17°C. Sea temperatures are expected to be between 20°C and 21°C. A yellow-level warning has been issued for the coast due to strong winds and waves, advising people to stay informed and take necessary precautions in affected areas.

Sofia City, Pernik, Kyustendil, and Blagoevgrad are currently not under any weather warnings. However, the rest of the country is advised to remain cautious and monitor updates as the weather situation develops.
