Qatar and Spain have reached an agreement to enhance their security collaboration in preparation for the 2030 FIFA World Cup. The agreement was formalized during a visit by Qatar’s Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, to Spain. There, he met with Spain’s Interior Minister, Fernando Grande-Marlaska Gómez. The discussions between the two officials centered on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring opportunities to expand cooperation in the security sector, along with addressing various issues of mutual interest.
As a significant outcome of their discussions, the ministers signed a Letter of Intent on security cooperation specifically for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
